Director of Engineering

Position Summary: The Director of Engineering will lead a dynamic team of junior mechanical and electrical engineers, ensuring the successful design, development, and implementation of innovative machinery solutions for packaging lines across various industries. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong technical expertise and leadership skills to foster an environment of collaboration, growth, and excellence within the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Team Development:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of junior mechanical and electrical engineers.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and innovation within the engineering team.
Conduct performance evaluations and develop training programs tailored to team members’ needs.
2. Technical Guidance:
Provide expert technical guidance in the design, development, and optimization of machines for packaging lines in various industries.
Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, and project proposals, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
3. Project Management:
Oversee engineering projects from concept through execution, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder communication throughout project lifecycles.
4. Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., operations, software, sales and project management) to ensure alignment of engineering initiatives with business goals.
Maintain open lines of communication with clients to understand their needs and provide effective technical solutions.
5. Research and Development:
Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and industry trends to drive innovation within the engineering team.
Lead initiatives for R&D projects aimed at enhancing product performance, reliability, and efficiency.
6. Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all engineering practices comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols.
Foster a safe working environment by promoting safety practices and performing risk assessments.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Proven experience in machinery design, specifically in packaging lines for pharmaceuticals, food, beverage, and agro-chemicals.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, with a strong ability to develop and guide junior engineers.
• In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, tools, and methodologies.
• Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully executing engineering projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient in relevant software and tools (e.g., CAD software, project management tools).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with various stakeholders.
